~11 months old. Good with older considerate children and dogs. Cats TBD. Needs a companion animal. Hello.... Meet Anya, a beautiful 11 month old black/tan girl who came to her foster mom at 3 months old. She was brought to the shelter with her two sisters and all three were a bit shy, obviously not socialized and scared of people and the world in general. Well fast forward a few weeks and she is oh so much better! She is still a little shy in new situations and with new people but it's nothing time and experience couldn't help. Anya is a super smart girl, she's house and crate trained and has already learned commands like sit, shake, high five, and lay down. All thanks to the hard work of her foster mom and the fact that Anya is a quick learner! Now like all young pups Anya is full of energy and loves to run and play, she especially likes to swim! I mean this dog LOVES the water so if you have a pool you better watch out! She will make you laugh with her creativity with water, you name it she loves it, and yes that includes mud puddles and the toilet bowl, oh so fun in her opinion, maybe not so much yours but hey, she's a pup what do you expect? But if you want to adopt Anya you better be prepared to have a kiddie pool or something for her so she can get her water fix anytime she wants. Now Anya is great with other dogs but we're not quite sure how she would be with cats just yet, we are working on getting her tested we just haven't found any dog savvy cats to test her with to date. :) As we said she's good with people but a bit shy at first, once she gets to know you (which won't take long) watch out! Now she does need some work with car rides, she gets very nervous and drools a lot, she may even get sick but most dogs like Anya who have never really had the opportunity to go for a McDonald's cheeseburger on weekends just need practice, so that would be your job, take her everywhere and make it a positive experience and she'll get better, in fact she may eventually drive you crazy to go for rides once she learns how fun it can be. Now a home with a fenced in yard would be optimal for Anya but if you don't have one you better be prepared to provide her with A LOT of exercise.
