~6 years old. Good with kids and dogs.  Not good with cats.

Hi - I'm Champ! I came to GSRA after I chased a cat onto a car and caused a little property damage.  My owners surrendered me to the shelter, but thankfully GSRA came to the rescue! I'm a good sized boy, weighing in at about 85 lbs, with big paws.  I was previously an outside dog and even though I have a great foster home now, I still love to be outside, especially playing Frisbee. I am very good with all of my foster siblings, those with two legs and those with four legs. I love to ride in the car especially when we go to the dog park. I'm housetrained, kennel trained and not very talkative. I do need to work on walking on a leash and basic commands. My foster mom thinks I would be great as an only dog or as part of a pack. Won't you make me a part of your family?

UPDATE 22JULY13
Hey it's Champ! I wanted to check in and let everyone know that I'm doing wonderfully. I'm settling in to the routine at my foster home really well. I love all of my siblings, especially the little two legged one. She gives me lots of hugs and I just smile at her. My foster mom won't let her really rough house with me, but it looks fun. I'm very good in my kennel at night and when left alone. I know the drill and go in there without being asked. I had a few accidents on the carpet when I first got here, but after my foster siblings showed me their nice dog run, I always wait to go outside now. I know most basic commands and will come when call and will sit and wait for my dinner. I have a very soft mouth and will take even the tiniest treats without my teeth. The little one loves to give me rawhides and I love her for them! I enjoy spending time outside and you should see me "drink" out of the hose. Everything thinks it is so funny, but I just think it is a great way to cool off. I still need some helping walking on a leash though. I am a typical Shepherd in the fact that I want to be where you are, but I don't beg or get in the way. I settle for the night once you do. I'm not vocal, but if crated, I will talk back to thunder. I would love to meet you and show you what a great friend I can be!
