Great taste, less filling! Great taste, less filling!! Ok, so you probably think this is a strange way to start a bio, but once you meet Tango you will understand. You see, Tango is a great little guy who is eagerly awaiting his new family. He is the GSRA version of "Shepherd Lite"! All the great shepherd qualities in a compact little package.

Tango is a a striking boy. He is solid black, with a nice soft coat. He looks and acts very much like a shepherd, but in a miniature package. Tango is a happy and friendly little guy. He is approximately 1 year old, and is just about full grown. He is weighing in at a whopping 25 pounds. Now if you have read this far, you are clearly intrigued. So, are you looking for a sweet and affectionate companion without the size and strength of the traditional German Shepherd?? Well, Tango might just be the boy for you!

Tango found himself picked up as a stray, and ended up in a shelter where he was clearly overwhelmed. He was terrified, and just cowered and shook in the back of his kennel. The shelter reached out to us for help, as they knew that a small, scared and timid black dog would have little chance at adoption. Tango was quite skittish when he first came to his foster home, and was extremely hand shy. It was virtually impossible to get a leash on him or to touch his neck or face. However, Tango is a smart young fellow, and he soon came to realize that he was not going to be hit. He has been learning to trust and has made great progress in just a few short weeks. Tango is turning out to be quite affectionate. His tail never stops wagging, and he happily darts around just delighted with everything. He is still a little ball of energy, but loves to be petted and have his chest rubbed. Tango seems very eager to please. He does not know any commands yet, but will run over quickly whenever he is called. He has already discovered that it is quite nice to sit on the couch and cuddle.

Tango is a social little dog, and loves to play with other dogs. He is quite quick, and loves to play chase. He recently "discovered" the tennis ball, and will happily run around with it, and toss and chase it by himself. Tango is housebroken and crate trained as well. Tango is a fun dog who will need a loving family willing to continue to build his confidence. Tango would probably do best in a home with another social doggie friend to help show him the ropes. So, if you are ready to add a great, lovable little guy to your household, come and meet Tango!
