(8 yrs old) Good with dogs and cats. Kids TBD 7/24/12 Update!! Now that Smitty is feeling better we are beginning to see a very funny, smart, happy boy. He has the energy of a 3 yr old for about 30 min..then he's ready to come in for a good drink of water and a nap. We have discovered that Smitty is very well trained..he knows sit, stay, down, leave it (most times), great recall and walks great on leash. Somewhere in his life someone cared about him. He's very polite meeting people and he knows how to keep the younger boys in his pack in line with great patience. He's great with cats as you can see in his new video. He LOVES to ride in the car. The window tellers love him at the bank. They talk to him over the speaker and he talks right back..wonder what the people inside the bank must be thinking. Smitty is a laugh a min and turns heads wherever he goes. A wonderful Senior GSD. Stop the music...drum roll..Introducing SMITTY!! I'm please to announce that Smitty is now up for adoption. This amazing 8 yr old puppy was pulled from certain death and brought into GSRA's loving arms. He has come along way in a very short time..he was covered in fleas, ticks and general filth. Vet check showed he was very healthy except for being hw+ (which will be taken care of the end of July) and 30 lbs under weight. He is gaining weight like a champ and has learned how to play ball both inside and outside. He loves ball really any kind of play..that must have been missing before. He's a talker..and will let you know when its time to play or eat (his 2nd most favorite thing to do). He has lots of manners..knows sit, stay, come, down, wait and best of all "wanna play?" The vets says he's 8 years old but you would never know it by his energy..he has a great gait when he runs..appears to have no hip issues and a solid straight back. Oh yea he also has a diamond on his forehead..shall we say he's a diamond in the rough. He's great with the cats and kittens and plays well with the other 5 dogs in his foster home. Smitty will make a great only pet or will fit in with a family. He's just the all round perfect large male GSD.
