Nika is a stunning girl, with a very friendly and outgoing disposition. She is a pretty tall girl, and has very long legs. She will be close to 70-75 pounds when she reaches ideal weight.
Nika is desperate for love. We don't know too much about her background. Nika was a very skinny stray that had clearly been on her own for some time. She was quite emaciated, and smelled horrible. In her quest to find a family of her own, she wandered up to a house and took residency on their front porch. She stayed there for several days, and kept trying to get into the house. The family could not keep her and called animal control to get her. So poor Nika found herself incarcerated in a loud, noisy shelter. GSRA stepped up for her, and promised we would find her a family that would love her as much as she will love them.
Nika is a very people oriented girl. She pranced into the vets office wagging her tail at all the people. Nika is a fairly quiet girl, and is very content to hop up on the couch and put her head on your lap to watch movies. She is very attentive, and just wants to be near her people. She will follow you everywhere. I have taken her to work, and she stays very close, and is very curious about whatever I am doing. Nika has a playful side, and loves toys. She really likes soft toys, as they are fun to shred!! Nika is housebroken and crate trained as well. She is a very nice girl. Nika is also very food motivated. he does not seem to know any commands, but with her food drive and willingness to please, she should be easy to train.
Nika adores people, but is not fond of other animals. I do not know if it is fear based or not, but Nika will have to be an only pet. She has enough love and personality to make any family quite happy. A fenced yard would be a plus, as Nika seems to be on a mission to track down squirrels!! Nika has put on about 15 pounds, and looks healthy now. She has been spayed and is currently undergoing HW treatment (July 2). Nika should be ready to find her new family by early to mid August.
