Look out world - here comes Zuzu! Zuzu is one of the pups from the litter of 6 that GSRA recently rescued and she’s about 10 weeks old. The day our volunteer went to pick up the pups, she found Zuzu severely injured. Turns out the poor little girl had a fractured pelvis in 3 places! We don’t know what happened to her, perhaps she had been stepped on, but at any rate our vet assured us that at this young age, little pups are “healing machines” and mostly cartilage so she expected Zuzu to make a good recovery. Turns out, she was right and within just a few days and some good TLC, Zuzu was walking, going up and down stairs, jumping and running!! She probably always will have just the tiniest little “gimp in her get along” but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She can run with the best of them and loves to chase and be chased by the big dogs in her foster home.

Zuzu is outgoing, fearless, playful, curious and she loves to cuddle. She plays well with the big dogs and is respectful of the seniors who would rather not indulge in puppy business. She is working on housebreaking. She does make a little whine to let everyone know she has to go and then there is about a 30 second delay before the piddle so we’ve learned to move quickly. She isn’t so crazy about the crate yet and gets very vocal with her protests so this needs some work. Due to her recovery, she has been mostly kept in a puppy corral rather than a crate so we are just starting to work on that now.

Zuzu would love another young dog to play with, one who can show her the ropes in a new home as she is very good about watching and imitating the big dogs. She’s already learned to “sit” for treats and meals. She is a great little girl looking for her forever home and someone’s heart to steal. Check out Zuzu’s movie here
