~3 years old.  Good with kids, dogs and cats.  Apartment approrpiate.

Meet Chase!! He’s the sweetest, happiest little sheppie/chow mix and though he may not have as much shepherd in him as GSRA’s other pups, it doesn’t matter a bit with this beautiful boy! Chase is one of the most confident, outgoing dogs and is very at-ease and comfortable in almost any situation. You can pretty much take this boy anywhere and he’ll act like he’s been there his whole life. Easy-going Chase LOVES making new friends - people, dogs, and cats!

Chase is a cuddle monster wants nothing more than to snuggle up next to you and he is very good about not jumping up on the couch unless invited. He is very people-oriented and tends to follow us around the house. He seems to be pretty entertained just watching whatever we may be doing – dishes, cooking, sweeping floors, etc – there’s Chase smiling at you with that constantly wagging tail! It seems like everything is the most exciting thing ever to him! He is one extremely happy little dude.

As much as he loves his people, he’s also great with other dogs. We were very impressed with his manners when first meeting his foster brother. When Chase tries to instigate play, he does so in a very respectful way and if his brother just isn’t feeling it, Chase will happily wait until he is. Chase’s foster brother is much larger than he is but that doesn’t seem to faze him; he is one tough little guy and can definitely hold his own. He’s also great with little dogs, he loves romping around with a friend’s miniature dachshunds. He tested well with cats at the shelter, though now in his foster home he has only met cats on walks and he does extremely well, just calmly sniffs them, gives a tail wag, and then carries on. He has zero prey drive so I don’t think it would be an issue for him to live with cats.

Chase loves his daily walks, and even though he’s good about chilling out when it’s time, he does need regular exercise. He can get excited when he sees you going for the leash, but really has excellent leash manners. He also LOVES playing and running around in his backyard. He’s pretty entertaining when he gets himself hyped up, racing circles around the fence line and sprinting in zig zags. He likes to grab toys and tries to entice you to chase him around. And boy does he love his toys – Chase will prance all around with his favorite toy and if he can’t get you to play with him he’ll toss it around for himself.

Chase can get a little mouthy sometimes, especially when he gets excited or wants attention. But he has gotten much better at this and is easily corrected. He’s also completely housetrained and has never had an accident in this house. Chase does okay in the crate, but prefers not being left in it for long periods of time. He really doesn’t even need it as he is completely trustworthy in the house (as long as there are no food scraps left on the kitchen counter!). He’s also a very smart boy, he picked up sit, stay, down, and wait very quickly. So if you’re interested in a charming, well-adjusted, lovin’-life kind of guy Chase would love to meet you
