German Shepherd Dog (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young
(2-3 yrs old) Good with dogs and older considerate children. Not good with small dogs or cats due to high prey drive. Needs a companion animal. Updated 2/22- Time for an update on Mary Ford, now known as CJ, she has come a long way since the day she and Les Paul were chained to that fence. Let me first tell you how she got her new name as CJ, when Mary Ford came to live with us she was so scared and skittish she really did not respond to any name at all. Well my hubby is the master of naming better yet nicknaming the “girls” so he tried plenty of names out on her. I thought she should be called Lady, but nope didn’t respond to that, so the hubby called her Cheyenne, nope, then he said CJ and she looked right at him. Well CJ is short for Cheyenne June for my 16 year old niece that was born and raised in NC. The girl is beautiful and smart when she wants to be, but most of all both “girls” have a mind of their own (that would be hard headed). But, you have to love them because they are both beautiful at heart and only want to please the ones they love. CJ loves her ball and chasing her foster sister around the yard, to help with her separation anxiety she has become roommates with her foster sister Tara. CJ hates a kennel but is completely happy in the spare room with her bed and a buddy. Now that CJ is comfortable in her surroundings, she is showing signs of wanting to be Alpha, so she will need a strong Mom and/or Dad to keep her in line. She listens great but needs the structure and needs A LOT of exercise. A very active strong family will suit CJ just fine.

Sweet and loving Mary is wonderful, so sweet but still a little skittish around loud noises and new things. She is a very fast learner and wants to please so much. She loves her humans dearly; she will bond very quickly with you. Mary loves to play fetch, I get tired before she does, and she plays great with other dogs. Updated bio: Dear, dear Mary, so sweet and timid. Since Mary had been used for breeding, she had never experienced human love. Now she is just a snuggle bunny. Mary is not pushy but oh so open for kindness. She loves a morning walk and then she is happy for a restful day. Please consider giving your heart and home to this beautiful girl. Mary will surely return the kindness. Original bio:Mary was tied to my gate one night. She was shivering and so afraid. I gave her warmth and food. She gets along so well with all my dogs, large and small. Mary is very shy but so sweet. She needs lots of love so that she can learn what being a care-for German Shepherd is all about. She enjoys going for morning walks and she is very polite while on a horse ride. She walks right beside me and my horse.
