Hi there, my name is Livie pronounced “live – eeee), as in glad to be alive? Yeah, well mom isn’t to creative is she? That’s ok I’m used to it and besides, I’m so happy to be out of the shelter I could care less what you called me. You see my previous family decided they didn’t want me anymore and left me there, I was so scared I just cowered in the back of the kennel. Trust me, you would too if they put you there! Well one of the employees saw something special in me and took me under her wing, I got to spend the days in her office in my own quiet crate and I even got a bed to lay on! See she called this rescue lady and asked if they could help because the chances of me getting adopted were pretty nil since most people don’t want dogs who cower in the corner and act afraid. So that’s my story, I’m in an awesome home now, I get to live inside and lounge on the couch and mom even lets me sleep with her at night, I don’t really give her a choice though, I just want to be with someone. Mom says I’m like that song “Stuck like glue” by sugarland? You know the one I mean, “Whoa-oh, whoa-oh, stuck like glue

You and me baby, we're stuck like glue”, now it’ll be in your head all day  Mom says that’s me, she also calls me a Velcro dog whatever that means. I just love being with people, I am still a bit skittish especially with new people but who can blame me with my background? I promise it won’t take me long to warm up to you, maybe a couple of hours but I do come around pretty fast. Now I get along great with dogs and mom’s cat, in fact I have 7 foster siblings, that’s right count ‘em, 7! That’s a lot of dogs but they’re all cool and we don’t bother each other at all, probably because the only thing I’m interested in is mom  Now she says to tell you I’m crate trained even though I’m not crazy about it at all, I’ve learned that she puts me in it when she leaves for work so now I play keep away and see how long it takes her to catch me, I know, I’m so bad! I am also house trained but you’d better be ready to go outside with me because it's a big scary world and I don’t like being outside without you, I might get better over time but for now you’re gonna have to hold my hand. I’m also up to date on all my shots and mom says I’ve got an appt to be spayed on April 11th, not sure what that’s about but I hope it’s something fun! I also tested positive for heartworms but mom says we’ll get rid of those too so not to worry about anything! Heck, I get to live indoors and get lots of love, I don’t have much to worry about any more. So what do you say, want a Velcro dog? Remember, you better like a lap dog (I’m on the smaller side anyway, only 46lbs at my last vet visit!) because keeping me off furniture and away from you isn’t going to bode well with me!
Livie is a super sweet girl, she does warm up fast to people and we were told she’s more skittish around men than women but I haven’t noticed that during her trips to the vet but because she’s not around men she could be more tentative at first. My guess is that she was possibly abused at some point and that’s made her somewhat skittish, it could be in her genetic makeup though. She sincerely wants to be touching you most of the time, she’s a funny girl and is finally starting to wag her tail and get excited to see me after only two weeks in foster care. She loves belly rubs and basically any attention you’re willing to give her. Being that she is skittish we don’t recommend a home with a lot of activity as far as people constantly coming and going or a home with children under the age of 10. She has not been around children yet either but I think she would do ok with older children. She is crate and house trained, maybe 2-3 years old is our best guess, on the small side at about 46lbs, she could stand to gain some weight but I highly doubt she’ll ever get over 60lbs, she’s just got such a small frame. She is heartworm positive and we’ll treat her once she’s been spayed. She really is an adorable girl and will make someone an awesome companion.
