Harley is a German Shepherd/Belgian Melanoit mix male. He is about a year and half old, neutered and on heartworm and flea prevention. He is very easy to train and has a great willingness to please. He is both high energy and can be a great couch potato as he loves to cuddle if given the chance. He has learned some commands, come, sit, stay, down, off and will wait for the command "free" to go to food or take a treat. He does want to be an only dog and will make a great companion and alert dog for someone. He has a strong prey drive and would easily make a protection dog given the training. I would not recommend him for small children as he has not been with them while in foster care. He is friendly to everyone but is protective of family and territory.
This dog has great heart and will give you his very best in every situation. He is so willing that when told not to look at the cats or horses, he turns away. He is a very fast learner who is worked on lead daily. I keep him on lead as I do other chores and he watches me to make sure he stays within the length of the lead at all times. He knows to "go around" to right himself if his lead is around a tree or other object and will stop to see my direction before he continues.
