Sammy is a loveable lug, but has an aggressive protective nature when in the home. Essentially, he is good outside the home and has been loveable in public and has been around other dogs. He only likes HIS cats that he was raised with. Sammy needs a new home as relocation forces a cross-country move from a home residence to a rental...we have been told he needs a job, and would be a great one-on-one companion dog or guard dog. He needs room to run, and has received some special training which was helpful for obedience, but he still backslides now and then. He is very keen on sensing when someone fears him, and this can be an issue when people come to visit and enter his domain and they show him fear, he might bite. He has been with a couple since birth, no children, and we would not like to see him around children or a house full of people...he needs someone who can spend time exercising him, and loving him. He can be the most incredibl e dog when he is one-on-one. We want what is best for Sammy and hope that someone can love him as much as we have, and will give him the ideal home. His ideal home would be a place with wide open spaces to run, and a lot of one-on-one time with one master. A large fenced yard where he could play with other dogs would be great, but he is dominant to other dogs. He can jump over 5' fences and loves to play frisbee and fetch. He would make an excellent guard dog inside the home, but outside he's a loveable lug and would lick you to death. He is extreemly intelligent and learns commands very quickly. He would be an excellent police dog. We need to place Sammy by May 2011 if possible. We would welcome any questions you may have, and would like to know about you and your interest in Sammy.
