Shamrock is a 5 y.o. German Shepherd who weighs around 50-60 lbs. She came to us from a military family who asked that we take her and her sister Susie (a lab/pit mix) until he completed training and got orders to his new duty station. This was back in October of 2009. When his orders came thru, his orders sent him to a place that did not allow dogs so he turned both dogs over to us. I’m a Chihuahua rescuer so I’ll admit that I don’t have a clue when it comes to German Shepherds. She is currently UTD on everything and is spayed.

Shamrock is a great dog but she needs some training and she needs alpha personality owners. She gets along great with children and was even called the “nanny dog” for the previous owner’s small children. She loves all people and she loves to run. She will need a fenced in yard. At her previous home, she was invited inside but according to them, “was a bit nervous when inside and preferred to be outside.” She loves to ride in the car and go places with you.

Shamrock gets along with other dogs that are larger than her but needs to be introduced slowly until she gets to know them. She got along fine with the previous owner’s cat but tends to want to chase the barn cats at her current location so we do not think that she would be good with cats or smaller animals. She needs someone to give her a chance and some training as she constantly wants to please you.

If you think Shamrock might be the dog for you, please contact
wildlifeed2@aol.com for an application. A home visit will be required
