(4 yrs old) Good with kids and dogs. Working on our manners with cats!

Meet Rex! Possibly the most perfect dog you will ever find! And pretty easy on the eyes (and no that's not just a biased foster Mom talking!). Rex moved in with us recently so we are still getting to know him, but what we have seen so far makes us feel that he is AWESOME!!

Rex is currently living with 4 other dogs - 2 males and 2 females - and he is wonderful with them all. He understands his place in the pack and is very respectful of the older dogs. He has formed a fast friendship with our pit bull Floyd and can match Floyd in stamina and playfullness. In fact, Rex has quite a bit of energy to burn. He can easily handle a 3.5 mile power walk and has no problem with then coming home and wrestling with Floyd for a solid hour. That all said, Rex thinks that dog beds and couches (sorry) are REALLY comfortable and he is quite content to take a nap next to you if you are just in the mood for chilling. I'm telling you, whatever speed you want to go at, Rex will be right there with you!

Rex's house manners are impeccable. He is crate trained, but can also be left unattended outside of the crate and not touch a thing that he shouldn't. He doesn't beg, he doesn't bark in the house (though he has a formidable bark when he's outside protecting the house and yard!!), he doesn't counter surf or get in the garbage...heck, if he could learn to wash dishes we would be tempted to adopt him ourselves!!!

Now I know you are all on the edge of your seats wondering...how does this seemingly perfect dog do with cats. Well, this is an area of Rex's personality that is a work in progress. He has met one of the resident cats, on leash of course, and while he was intently interested in it he didn't make any moves to hurt it. So, the jury is out on Rex's cat-friendliness. We will continue testing him on this subject and will report back with updates once we know more.

Most importantly, what you need to know about this handsome dude is that he is a lover. He wants nothing more than to be with his people. He is affectionate and sweet without being needy or over-powering. He hops up on the couch and snuggles with me, but only when invited. Otherwise, he will find himself a comfy dog bed near by where he can keep an eye on the goings on.

I could go on and on about Rex but you know what? You just need to meet him for yourself. I am confident that within minutes of meeting him you will find him as amazing as I do and will want him to join your family. They just don't get much better than Rex!
