Update: 8/22/2011

I have had Sims since 1st of June and my family are totally loving this dog. She is so gentle, laid back, funny, and so very much loves her people. Sims gets a good walk in the morning and she is good to go for the rest of the day. Very content to follow you all over the house or (in which she prefers) to go with you in the car. This dog LOVES THE CAR! Sims also loves a good game of fetch daily and a good floppy toy to carry around the house. She sleeps in her crate at night only because she is a foster dog and I don't want her to get out of the habit of the crate, but she really would prefer to sleep right next to your bed. Sims has a habit of wishing to be near small dogs real quick like while we are walking. We have been working on this since June and she is showing much improvement but it would be best to not be housed with a small dog.  We don't have cats in our home.  However, Sims showed during a weekend outing and at a homevisit she could live with them.

Sims is perfect for someone who is looking for a dog to hang out with inside the house, not a lot of energy, and adores the ground you walk on.

Original bio: Meet Sims, aka the Noodle or Simsy.

Sims arrived in the rescue from a shelter in Eastern North Carolina. She is 6 years old though you would never know it. She is silly, active, playful, and loving. This sweet gal is looking for her forever home.

She knows all kinds of commands like: sit, down, shake, stay, leave it, and she is working on "wait" when coming in and out of the house. Sims is literally an insta-dog. She is well trained, respectful and submissive to her people, relaxed and very loving. She is very focused on her people and loves to be a part of your life. She is not a velcro dog but is a relaxed but playful presence in the home. She is house trained and will let you know by getting in your face or bouncing up and down, if she needs to go out.

Even when she is being naughty, Sims is cute. If she does not want to go into her crate....she will lie down like a limp noodle and tries to look pathetic, all the while wagging her tail. However, her weakness is that she would sell her soul for a dog treat, so we always win :-).

She is very interested in our cat. Occasionally she gets so interested that the kitty finds her head in Sims' mouth. She has never done anything that our 18 year old cat can't handle, but I would not want to have them in the same room when I am not at home. I just think the game might get out of hand for our kitty. With regular exercise and a dog saavy cat, I think they would be fine but a cat free home would be best.

Sims has visited the dog park and does well. She will need to be monitored as she does tend to try out her dominance skills with other dogs, but she is easily corrected by other dogs and her people. That being said, she does fixate on small dogs and therefore she needs to go to a home without small dogs.

Sims is great with kids and loves to play fetch. She adores floppy toys to flail about and squeaky balls. Her favorite toy is a partially deflated soccer ball.

Sims is the kind of dog that everyone falls in love with. She is just purely awesome!

Special Needs: Sims does have a couple of medical issues that possible adopters need to be aware of. She has slight arthritis in her two front elbows. In her right elbow she has elbow dysplasia and we are reviewing treatment options. What this means for now is that she has a slight limp and takes medicine daily for any discomfort.
