Lilly is a 3 and a half year old German Shepherd Mix whom I adopted nearly 3 years ago. She is a love, but it too much dog for me. I have pondered over the past 3 yrs surrendering her; however, I love her and am torn.

We live in an apartment, and she loves being indoors, however, I really think she would enjoy have a fenced yard to run around in. She is extremely overly protective around me...we can't even walk around my apartment complex without her barking and acting crazy on her leash whenever another animal is around. She loves all people though and is very sweet towards people and children! She had her wellness checkup 2 weeks ago, and is in great health! She also had her monthly frontline and interceptor treatment this evening (8/15/10).

I personally think she needs a dominant male or female owner to handle her. I am just not that, and since I've had her so long, I don't see her changing with me. She has never had an accident in the house, loves to snuggle, and is very calm until she gets around another animal! She does walk pretty well on a leash...until she sees another animal. Other people say she is fine around other animals, so maybe it's just me! She really needs to be trained to know that she is NOT the master! She would make a wonderful companion for the right person!
