(8-9years) Retired female looking for a love connection.
From Naomi:
I enjoy sunrises and sunsets and slow leisurely walks in the evening. Are you retired too and looking for a companion to share your time with? I will be completely devoted to you and will gladly go where ever you go, but I will be happy to sit on the porch sipping mint juleps with you too.
From Foster Mom:
Naomi truly deserves a loving and peaceful retirement home. She originally belonged to a breeder who dumped her at the shelter, heartworm positive, after her usefulness to him was over. I can imagine that she was a loving and gentle mother and she did not deserve what happened to her. A nice couple adopted her, treated her for heartworms and nursed her back to health. Sadly, their first dog did not like Naomi, apparently that dog didnât like any other dog so Naomi was again sent to the shelter.
Enter Naomiâs angel, A volunteer at the shelter knew Naomi was worth saving and paid for Naomiâs boarding until GSRA could take her in. This woman took Naomi home with her often, but her house is full of young energetic dogs and Naomi had a hard time. Luckily, a foster home opened up and Naomi was taken in.
This is where my family comes in. I picked Naomi up and it was obvious that she was bonded and devoted to her angel. It broke my heart to hear Naomi cry as we drove away. I wondered if Naomi would get depressed and I worried all the way home. Miraculously, by the time we got home Naomi decided I was a kind person and she quickly bonded to me. It never ceases to amaze me how loyal and trusting dogs can be! This makes Naomiâs situation all the more stressful. Naomi is now living with a 10 year old male, a 4 year old male GSD, a 1 ½ year old female GSD, and a cat. Naomi is getting along with all of them.
She has a strange way of vocalizing. At first it seems like she is growling, but she is just talking! If she goes to a home with other dogs, these dogs need to be well adjusted and laid back or they might misinterpret Naomiâs âtalkingâ. She is starting to play with my female and she LOVES to play with me. I am NEVER alone in the house; she follows me everywhere. It seems she thinks I might be stolen at any moment. I feel confident that no one will sneak in and take me away! Naomi is on the job.
Naomi needs daily exercise to keep her old joints working, but who doesnât? She is happy with a nice slow walk. She walks with my pack each night for about an hour and she looks forward to it.
Do you think your home might be Naomiâs retirement home? Trust me, you will experience more love from this pretty girl than you can imagine. She really is special. She has completely stolen my heart and I know she will steal yours too.
Another message from Naomi:
I have been moved around a lot. When I move again I NEED it to be my last move, so please only apply if you are willing to let me retire with you!
