Howl’dy friends! My name is Arfer Fonzarelli aka Fonzi. One handsome boy hanging out in a Golden Retriever rescue — thanks Neuse River! 

I really am one amazing dog, but I may be biased. I’m so chill, sometimes my foster mom forgets I’m around! I am completely house trained, and I don’t counter surf. My foster brother and sister taught me to bark at the doorbell, but just trying to protect my hoomans (and I blame my foster siblings for the habit.) Want to know one of the best things about me? I’m a snuggle bug! If you let me on the couch or bed, I’m there! I thrive lying my head on my foster mom’s pillows and being tucked in her blanket at night. 

There’s truly not a dog that I’ve met and didn’t like. I’m actually most comfortable with dogs and love to snuggle my brother and sister when my pawrents are busy adulting. This may actually be because I was found roaming the streets with my previous brothers — other doggies make me feel safe. I really am hoping for a confident and friendly furever bestie in my new home! I am pretty chill but I do get a wild hair at the dog park every now and then, so having somebody to run around with would be extra cool. A fenced backyard would be the cherry on top! 

Speaking of my past … (we all have them, c‘mon.) A mix of abuse and running the streets for some time have me a little skittish. I’m slow to trust new humans, but I promise I’m working on it each day! I’ve been in my current foster home since Thanksgiving, and my foster mom is for sure my person. She tells me how proud of me she is like everyday since I really have come so far! I promise I have so much love to give, and will probably cuddle you very soon, but I just need somebody who will be patient with me. I have lots of snuggles and licks to give you in my future! 

But okay, back to all the great things about me. I’m getting so much better on a leash, especially when I’m comfortable with my surroundings and walking with my foster siblings. I love to sleep in my crate (or the bed) — whatever makes you comfy! And last but not least, have you seen me? I’m so handsome! Probably a mix of  German Shepherd, Lab, Golden or even Great Pyrenees. I am the most perfect golden color and weigh about 60 lbs. Perfect for your lap!
