MAX ~10 years old. Good with dogs and older, considerate kids. Cats TBD.

GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.

Max is an adorable 10-year young pup. He had a wonderful life with his previous owner. Sadly, the owner became very sick and had to be hospitalized and was no longer able to care for him. So GSRA stepped in to help this sweet boy.  He was a bit unsure of everything that was going on to begin with but with love and attention he quickly realized that he was in a loving home, and everything would be okay.  He was a bit shy to begin with but after a couple of days, he was giving kisses, asking for attention and a belly rub or two…

Now don’t let his age fool you because Max still has some pep in his step.  He enjoys going for walks and exploring new things.  We enjoy a mile walk early in the morning and several shorter walks throughout the day.  We don’t go as far during the day b/c of the heat.  Now, this boy LOVES going for car rides.  The car is the first thing he heads for when we get ready to go for our walk. Lol He loves the window to be down, so he feels the wind in his fur.

Max is great in the house and has free reign 24/7.  He has been the perfect gentleman in the home.  He does well with other dogs and briefly lived with a small (male) and medium (female) size dog.  He might be okay with cats, but I would need to test him.  With his temperament, I believe he would be okay with older considerate children. Max walks okay on a leash but will pull if he gets nervous and wants to leave (like from the vets).

Max would love to find a family who enjoys the quieter things in life. He would be fine with a calm companion or as an only dog. Someone who enjoys a nice walk and taking their pups for a ride.  He would love a fenced yard but would be ok w/o one. Max does have a little arthritis in his back legs and takes a couple of suppliments to help.  He also needs to lose a few lbs but who couldn't use to lose a few. I know I could. lol

So, do you think this sweet senior might be the one for you?
