German Shepherd Dog (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult
TRIPPY ~3-4 years old. Good with kids and dogs. Cats TBD. Sometimes you see a dog that’s been through a few rough life events, and you wonder how can that dog still be so happy? Well, I guess dogs live in the moment and they don’t hold grudges. With that being said let me introduce you to Trippy. Trippy was hit by a car and brought into the emergency vet by animal control. Her leg had been broken in several places. She was microchipped and they were able to track down her owners after a couple of days. However, the owners were unwilling to take on the medical expenses of the injury. That vet had been treating her was so impressed with her calm and gentle personality that she asked us if we could please bring her into the rescue. How could we say no? Trippy has several pins and plates in her leg and is healing very well. Trippy also has a slightly crooked face/muzzle. We are not sure what this is from. The vet says it may be an old injury or it may just be some sort of a birth defect. She has a slight twist to her muzzle which gives her a very distinctive and unique smile and look. She also has one ear that tips over at the very top. Trippy is a beautiful dog and the pictures don’t do her justice. However, the real beauty of this dog is in her personality! She is a gem! Trippy is a very unusual color, she is brown and tan, which, in the Shepard color chart, is known as a liver! She may be a true liver shepherd, or she may be mixed with some other breed that has a dominant brown coat, but either way she is an absolutely stunning looking girl! Trippy is very friendly and loves affection. She loves to cuddle and sleep on the bed if given the opportunity. She is also perfectly happy loose in the house or in a crate. She is housebroken and quiet. She thinks everyone is her friend. She goes up to everybody with a gentle tail wag and wants to be petted. She also has a demeanor like an old sage. If you’re walking and you just stop to chat with someone she will sit down and just look around and reflect. After all she has been through she is just the calmest and most gentle girl. It appears that Trippy is good with other dogs, but we can’t fully test off leash until her leg is healed. She will be having another follow up x-ray at the end of July and hopefully be given for clearance at that point. This is a wonderful dog who is going to make a fantastic addition to some lucky family. More about TrippyGood with Dogs, Good with Kids Current Scheduled Events:
