Ranger is a good-natured, friendly pup who loves people and dogs. He quickly picks up on routine and general expectations. He is fully potty-trained, house-trained, and crate trained. He has done basic and intermediate obedience and knows many commands (sit, stay, wait, down, leg weaving, shake, take it, drop it, leave it, spin, touch, find, go to your place, etc). He is only 8 months old so his loose leash walking skills are variable depending on distractions. He does not bark. He aims to please his people hard. He does not resource guard, and he has no separation anxiety (happy to self-entertain with toys in his pen, or remain crated if need be). He drives in a car well (no whining or barking). He has one area he could use a lot of patience and work in -- he is a "frustrated greeter" so he gets very excited to see people and dogs when walking. He can walk past people if they don't stop, but dogs put him in too good of a mood and he will pull excitedly towards them. We have been working with him on this, and he is slowly making progress. He is 80 lbs at 8 months already, so he is a big baby and will continue to grow. He is cleared of all genetic issues (hips, etc); his mother's side has working line, and his father is a showline dog. With continued training, Ranger is going to be an amazing family dog because his foundations are already so strong -- he is good natured, confident around his people, and wears his heart on a sleeve. He has low ball drive and low prey drive -- he has seen squirrels while on a leash but did not pull when they ran. He still has excited puppy energy but he will grow into a calm dog quicker than others due to his medium/low drive, making him a perfect family dog. Unfortunately, we cannot keep him due to rapidly declining health issues (inability to walk him and give him proper exercise and a fulfilling life). We are looking for a loving family who will continue to train him force and intimidation free. If you use terms like "alpha," "dominance," or aim to go for quick-fix "solutions," such as prong collars or e-collars, please do not contact us. An adoption/rehoming fee will be charged. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GSRA DOG. ONLY CONTACT THIS INDIVIDUAL ABOUT THIS DOG. THE CONTACT HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH GSRA AND GSRA CANNOT ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS DOG.
