Vrrrroooom vrrrooom, what do all young GSDs have in common? Life is a leisurely ride, more fun if you’re traveling with the wind in your hair! My name is Harley, and I am a 1-year-old girl who’s good with older kids/cats/other dogs.

Because I am only one year old, my previous owners felt that they were not dedicating enough time to my high activity level and contacted GSRA to help out. My whole life I have lived with other dogs and children, but no matter the doggy age difference, I still act like I’m in charge. None of my furry siblings have corrected me, so I keep on getting the toys and beds that I want. I don’t know what would happen if a furry sibling said no. My previous family says I used to sleep with their child, and I currently live with a 9 year old. I am still a little excited when I play (oops was that a finger?), but am good with older kids. I met a cat the other day, and that cat shot laser beams at me, so I left her alone and pretended she wasn’t in the room.

Now that I’ve told you how I feel about kids and other animals, let me tell you what I think of people. At first, I’m shy. Especially with men. But I warm up in about a day with kindness and trust. I am a smart girl who should go through training with my new family. My foster mom says it will build my confidence and help me bond to my new family. I clearly have a lot of potential. Sure, I know a few simple commands now, but that’s too easy. Foster Mom says I need the most work being out in public. Since my previous owner worked a lot, I didn’t see all the things that I am seeing now, like parks, and bicycles, and joggers, and cars driving near me. And sometimes I don’t know how to react. The more confident my human is, the more relaxed I am. So I need someone who can relieve me of being in charge so that I can have fun!

I love playing with all toys. I’m not quite past the de-stuff phase, but almost. I love chasing tennis balls and stuffies and any toy that I’m given. I am also kennel trained and settle very easily at nighttime. My foster mommy has done this for my next family, but I don’t really need a kennel at night.

Least important of all, I am gorgeous and healthy! I act and look like a German Shepherd through and through.
