Lincoln is a beautiful soul with an excitable and loving temperament. He spends his morning running laps in the backyard and his afternoon lounging and napping around the house. The evening he spends following me around the house getting kisses and head rubs in where he can. He’s never been one who loves fetch but if you pick up his giant rope, he’s ready for war, lol. He grew up with and lived with cats for a couple of years from an old roommate. They coexisted well and he tried his best to play with them, but they weren’t a fan. Lexa, our other German Shepherd, is his best friend. They do everything together, from playing to napping to grooming. When he meets new people, he gets excited, he’ll kiss them attempt to land in their lap, but after about 10 minutes he’ll go back to lounging around unless they scratch his sweet spot. He can be a bit clumsy, but he does well with children. My 8, 12, and 14 year old siblings play with them and besides the occasional foot stomp they have fun. (Lincoln’s has heavy feet). My 1 year old is now walking and they are careful not to bump him and will lick his hands and head when he’s with them. Lincoln is house and kennel trained. Responds to basic commands. (Sit, roll over, shake, crate, come, out, stay, etc.) He knows to stay out of certain rooms and off furniture. However, if you allow him to he will gladly jump in bed with you or cuddle on the couch. He will be 4 years old next March and is not spayed. He is a big boy around 90 pounds. He prefers to be inside 75% of the time. He sleeps inside and if he wants to go outside, he will hit or sit next to the back door. Lincoln currently eats blue Buffalo dry dog food. For a while I used to mix a small container of wet dog for in his bowl and he loved it. Now it’s an occasional treat. He doesn’t overeat. You fill his bowl up and he’ll eat when he’s ready. You can stick your hand in his bowl, and he has no issues with food and our other dog. We do not feed him human food besides occasional veggies. Asparagus is his favorite treat. If possible, we really want Lexa and Lincoln to stay together. Lincoln had a bit of anxiety where he would chew his tail before we brought Lexa home. He doesn’t anymore but I don’t know if that will change if they are separated. I have a lot of photos and videos of him so let me know if you want to see more.PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GSRA DOG.
