AVERY ~9 months old. Good with kids and dogs. Cats TBD.

GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.

Hold onto your heart because Avery will steal it in a hurry. This gorgeous 9 month old black GSD was surrendered to the rescue when his family fell on hard times and felt like they needed help rehoming him. Avery is calm and relatively quiet. He enjoys going for a walk and hanging out in the yard with his foster siblings. He is a little shy (typical GSD cautiousness) but warms up quickly. He likes men and women and has lived with children. He walks well on leash, medium energy, a go-with-the- flow kind of guy that loves to be with his humans whether going for a walk or hanging out watching tv. Avery will likely grow to 90+lbs as an adult, he’s already a big boy and still has several months of growing left to do.

Avery is not crate trained and can break out of a regular wire crate. He is reliable free roam BUT MUST HAVE A COMPANION DOG WITH HIM. He cannot be left in the yard – even a fully contained yard – without his human family members due to separation anxiety. In his forever family Avery must have a dog companion and preferably people home more often than not. A fenced yard is preferred, if not, he needs an active family. Avery does well with large and small dogs, male and female. He is submissive to all dogs and somewhat timid with new dogs but playful when he gets comfortable.

Avery is a wonderful boy! Apply today, he can’t wait to meet you.
