Sasha is a 2 ½ year old pure-bred, black bi-color German Shepherd with a joyful personality. Known as “Sasha Bear” to her foster family, she is a true athlete who will be a perfect companion to someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. Sasha loves to play ball in her fenced-in yard at her foster home. She is agile and fast and will return the ball to you again and again. Smart, confident, and eager to please, she will be an ideal partner for agility training, obedience training, and long walks. As a young shepherd with enthusiasm and energy, Sasha will continue to benefit from ongoing training and structure and a daily exercise routine. She has a confident demeanor and already knows her basic commands. She enjoys walks, is doing well learning on-leash behaviors, and will quickly gain obedience and control with consistent time and attention given to on-leash activity and training. Sasha loves affection and belly rubs from her people. Given her energy level and self-confidence, she will thrive in a home as an only dog where she can form a strong bond with her guardian(s), who will have time to train and exercise with her. Sasha has socialized with male dogs and can hold her own in typical rough shepherd play. However, she would not do well in situations where she would have to compete for time or attention, with other female dogs or with small dogs. Sasha has been around an older cat who enjoys her company but she would not do well with younger very energetic cats. Sasha will do best with an EXPERIENCED HANDLER WHO HAS OWNED PURE-BRED GERMAN SHEPHERDS before and understands the intelligence and training needs of this breed. Sasha requires a secure fenced-in yard and daily exercise that includes ball playing. Since she has not been exposed to children before we WILL NOT PLACE HER IN A HOME WITH CHILDREN UNDER AGE 16. We also WILL NOT PLACE HER IN A HOME WITH OTHER FEMALE DOGS, SMALL DOGS, OR CATS. If you love and admire the intelligence, agility, and loyalty of the German Shepherd breed and can provide Sasha with the attention, exercise, and structure she will need to thrive, she will blossom and give you unending respect, devotion, and love. Sasha is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative, crate trained, leash and basic obedience trained, and house broken.
