SIMBA ~2 years old.  Good with dogs & Older Considerate Kids.  Cats TBD. Needs companion animal

GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only

Have you ever heard the saying that dogs don’t live in the past?  Well, this sweet boy Simba is a prime example of one that has left his past behind him.  You see, Simba was tied out on a tether and neglected to the point that he developed an embedded collar. Thankfully animal control was finally alerted and came to his rescue. He was able to receive the surgery he so desperately needed and now, after months of treatment, is all healed up.  Because of this, he CANNOT have a collar or anything tight around his neck ever again. He also hates to be picked up but will easily jump in the car, etc. Even after what he went through, this boy has nothing but LOVE to give.

Simba is a sweet little guy who loves life.  He might be a little shy when he first meets you but if you give him a little time, he is a total lovebug. He loves going for walks, hikes in the woods, rides well in the car and LOVES playing with his toys.  He loves attention and will rub up against you like a cat to get a little pet or two.  He gets along great with my pup and did well on a cat test done at the shelter but we would retest just to be sure. Simba has free reign 24/7 along with my pup and I haven’t had any issues.  Simba has moderate energy and would best with a companion to play with.  But he also knows how to settle down when he needs to.

Simba would love a family who has a fenced yard and another dog that he can run and play with.  He will need someone who is willing to work with him on training.  He seems to pick up on things pretty well but will need some work. He is treat motivated so that is a huge plus.   He does jump when excited and we are working on this.  Because of this, it’s best that he goes to a home w/o small children.  This little boy wants nothing more than to be loved and be able to give his family all the love they can handle.

If you are looking for a sweet little fellow who has a bunch of love to give, then Simba might be the one for you.
