Freesia is a sweet and beautiful 2 year spayed female GSD that is exceptionally smart and has a great personality. She is currently under weight and has successfully gaining weight since she has been out of the shelter. She is easy to handle in the house. An occasion some counter surfing may happen if something is left out. We are working with her on this. She drinks a lot of water like shepherds do, and this is perfectly normal. She takes treats gently and is not food aggressive. Waits until you give her the food and does not jump to get to it. She does not eat fast and stops when full. She is easily trainable and is eager to please her owner. She loves human contact and is friendly with others when out and about. She is crate trained and will let you know when she needs to go potty, by pacing or whining if in the crate. Freesia has not had any accidents inside of the house and she does go easily into her crate. She does not mess with her blanket/cushion other than to rearrange it for comfort. She does not chew it. Freesia is not nippy and does not snatch items from your hand. She is a loving dog and would sit in your lap if allowed. She loves to be around everyone. She does need a reminder that jumping up is not allowed, but she is gentle when it happens. She does well in stores and does not scare easily by noises, even shopping carts are fine. She is heart worm negative and is currently on Heart Guard, next dose is due mid-April. She is current on all shots. The vet is not worried about her weight if she continues with eating good quality dog food. Her body does not do well with standard dog food brands that contain fillers. It makes her skin stink and itchy. Freesia loves to be outside so she can run and play. She is reactive with some dogs at first, but after a little time she is in with the pack. She is learning to wait to be invited out of the crate and does not bolt when the door is open. She knows how to walk on a leash and or harness and is learning her manners to walk on the left side without pulling. She just needs the practice and is easily corrected. She will need a firm hand to distract her from cats. Freesia is an amazing dog for a cat free family who can give her the patience, training and leadership she needs to be her best self! She will need a minimum of a 6-foot fenced in yard and someone who can keep up with her energy needs. I can provide additional photos if needed.
