ROXI ~7-8 years old. Good with older considerate children, dogs, and cats. GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only Do not let Roxi's age fool you! She may be 8 years old chronologically, but let me tell you, this is one spunky girl!! Roxi came to us suffering from severe neglect and skin allergies. To say she was depressed would be an understatement! However, with the simply addition of food, medicine and love Roxi blossomed into an athletic, driven, lovable goofball! Roxi loves, loves, LOVES to play fetch. If playing fetch were a religion, Roxi would be a devout follower. If playing fetch were a meal, Roxi would feast on it till she exploded. If fetch were a political party......um, let's not go there! Anyway, you get the idea, this girl loves to play fetch. You have to tell her when the game is over as otherwise she would just go and go and go, like a ball crazy Energizer Bunny! That said, if you take away the ball, Roxi is just your typical, fun-loving, cuddly girl - happy to chew a bone at your feet, or take a nap or go for a hike. Roxi pretty much ignores other animals, including dogs and cats. She is all about her human! She is a great walking buddy and has literally never met a stranger. She is gentle with children, but because of her crazy love of balls we are recommending older children only for her. She can be a little too enthusiastic when grabbing for her ball and little hands could easily be overlooked in her excitement to start a game of fetch. Roxi is an easy going house mate who is house trained, crate trained and trustworthy enough to be left unattended. She is wonderful in the car and loves to go places with her humans. You just have to be willing to exercise her adequately so she can settle down when its time to be quiet. We are still working on determining the nature of her allergies, but with the help of a fantastic canine dermatologist we have her comfortable and itch free, with a gloriously soft and healthy fur coat. Roxi would do well in a quiet home with people who love to get outside and exercise. She would be an excellent only dog but can also co-habitate with other dogs (just as long as they don't also like to chase the ball) and cats. Honestly, you couldn't find a more perfect or funny girl than Miss Roxi. You need to meet her - I promise, you will fall in love.
