German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Large
RAMSEY ~4-6 months old. Good with dogs. Kids and cats TBD. Needs a companion animal. GSRA adopts to residents to VA, NC, and SC Hello world! Its me, Ramsey, coming at ya to check in and to see if I might be the family addition you have been waiting for! I am a young fellow, probably about 5-6 months old. I am just a puppy! I was picked up as a stray with my siblings...a rescue came to look at us and wanted to help, but did not have space for all of us. GSRA offered to help, so I ended up here! (Don't fret, all my siblings got rescued as well---no dog left behind!) OK, so let me tell you a bit about myself! As mentioned before, I am a youngster, just a puppy. I am a petite red sable. I have a fairly thick coat, with beautiful mahogany tones. I am not a very big boy at the moment...I am about 25-30 pounds. My foster mom is thinking that I will be in the 50-60 pound range when I finally grow and fill out. In all likelyhood, I will be a "compact" shepherd, but that is all the rage now from what I hear! I cannot talk, so I can't let you know my past. However, foster mom says that I was not well socialized or interacted with. I was very scared and skittish when I first came into rescue. I liked attention, but was terrified and would shake if you touched me. I would sit beside you and welcome the petting, but would chatter my teeth in apprehension/nervousness. I have made tremendous progress over the past few weeks. I am a very clingy boy...I want to be near my person at all times! I will run up and sit right in front of you and hope that you will give me some acknowledgement. I will follow you around in the yard, and stay so close that you will trip over me if you are not careful! I just want someone to love me. Foster mom has introduced me to several canine friends in the household! I am great with other dogs! I was scared of them initially, and tried to avoid them, but they were persistent...they wanted me to be friends with them. Now that I have started interacting with them, they are showing me the ropes and my confidence is building. Foster mom says that it would be best if I go to a home with another playful dog to continue to help me build my confidence, and have a canine companion to play with. I am a diamond in the rough. I want nothing more than to please, but I need a patient family that is willing to help me learn. I am fine in the crate, and have been learning that I need to "hold it" until I am let outside. (In my defense, I was good about not pooping, but I would pee in the crate. My foster brother has had a talk with me, and I am now trying to hold it until I go outside. I will start barking frantically if I need to go potty...so I am trying!) My ears...when I cam into the rescue they were total "floppers"! Could be an age thing/nutrition. They are now in "helicopter phase", where they are standing out to the side, with the occasional vertical on left ear. So jury is out on whether the ears will stand. I will love you 100% regardless of whether they stand or not. I am a bit spastic on leash...I do not pull, but I do dart back and forth...I need a bit of work on this. I am an extremely friendly and enthusiastic little guy looking for someone who wants to share adventures with me. As I continue to build confidence I am becoming more outgoing! So, what so you think? Am I your guy! If so, please come meet me soon! PS! I would really like another playful dog to continue to help me learn how life is supposed to be,..I get along with both male and female dogs! And, a fenced yard would be a plus as I have a lot of energy! Thank you for reading my story! Hope to meet you soon!Ramsey More about RamseyGood with Dogs, Good with Adults, Playful, Skittish, Eager To Please, Needs a companion animal Current Scheduled Events:
