SHILOH ~1 year old. Good with older considerate kids and dogs. Cats TBD.
GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only
Shiloh is a real trooper, She has been through a lot in a short period but has done incredibly. She was brought to the shelter as a stray so her previous history was unknown.
She came into GSRA early August. At her new foster home she was not acting like a typical
1 y/o GSD. She was sluggish and did not eat well.
During what was supposed to be a routine spay in late August, she went into respiratory distress during the surgery. Following surgery, she had an extensive work up it was discovered that Shiloh had an old injury. She was either hit by a car or by blunt force object. She had a diaphragmatic hernia and some old healing rib fractures. The hernia was pushing her organs out of place, hence the poor eating and the sluggish behavior.
She had surgery to correct and is doing very well. She now is happy, tail wagging and has a ferocious appetite. She is a great companion. She loves other dogs, kids, people and loves riding in cars and going for walks. She is more of a submissive dog and will do well with all types of dogs. She loves being brushed and doted on. She has been known to counter surf a time or 2 or 3 but she is learning her boundaries. She is fully house trained.
PLEASE NOTE: Shiloh is heartworm positive and will need to go thru treatment prior to being placed in a new home. Any potential family must be willing to wait.
