German Shepherd Dog : : Female (spayed)

~2 years old. Good with dogs and cats, not good with kids.

Zelda is a spayed female, full blooded German Sheperd, that will be 2 years old June 23rd. She is very loving to her family (her pack.) She is very very smart. We trained her through Petsmart puppy, where she "graduated" a week early. After that we started Lorenzo's training program at 6 months old. She is on and off leash trained. She can sit, stay (even at long distances), come, lay down, leave it, take it, drop it, back up, fetch, shake, high five, go to bed and no. She is kennel trained and sleeps in her kennel. She is house trained. She has never lived as an outdoor dog and would prefer to keep continue that. She loves to play ball, run outside, and take long walks. She has also recently discovered that she likes to swim. She is calm in the house and will hang out near our feet playing with her toys while everyone relaxes. She enjoys playing with other dogs and likes cats. She is anxious. She needs slow introductions to new people. She is not kid friendly. Anyone under 3 feet scares her. When she is fearful she will bark and growl to keep the scary things away. She needs someone who is well aware of German Shepard behaviors, and preferably someone familiar with working with them. She also needs a home with no small children.
Re homing her is not an easy decision for us, but we believe it is the best decision for her. She would be very happy with a calm, patient family that has lot of love and praises to give.
