Good with kids. Not good with dogs or cats

Tank is a very loving dog that just wants to have his ball thrown for him. Tank loves long walks, to be in the water and to chase something or someone. He is 3 and a half years old.
My husband and I rescued Tank from family who neglected him 2 and a half years ago. Tank had a huge fenced in back yard where he was chained up in the corner surrounded by his feces. The families children were not allowed to be around Tank even when they got him as an AKC registered Dog from 8 weeks old to 7 months old when we rescued him. needless to say Tank was not socialized at all. Tank has come a very long way and is a great dog now! I only put "not good with dogs" because he tends to be the alpha male. He has no food aggression. Tank has always been great with children but sometimes takes a minute to warm up to adults (tall males), but as long as they have a toy or ball in their hand then Tank will realize that they are a friend. My husband got surprise orders to Hawaii and they are a no rabies state (No, Tank does not have rabies), which means we would have to quarantine Tank for 120 days. We are leaving on October 16th and would love to find a loving and a perfect family for Tank. Unfortunately, we do not have family that can keep him. Please help us find a great family for Tank.
