JADE ~4-5 years old.  Good with dogs.  Kids and cats TBD.

GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only

Hello everyone, my name is Jade, and I am hoping that you might pick me to be your newest family companion. I am a very pretty bi-color, and very sweet once you get to know me. It takes a few days to earn my trust, as I am a bit shy. I am very food motivated, so if you offer me some real tasty treats, I've become friends real quickly! Once I am your friend, I am a Velcro dog. I will follow you everywhere! I have very good manners, I know how to sit, and take correction fairly easily. I am happiest just being by your side. I can be very playful and engaging. I will occasionally jump up on the bed, but I most content to just sleep on the dog bed beside the human bed.

I walk very well on a leash, and I'm a fairly quiet dog. I am housebroken and crate trained. I enjoy having a hard bone to chew on in my crate to keep me occupied.

I get along well with nondominant dogs and like to play with them. I am becoming a little more confident by the day as I settle into my foster home.

From foster mom:
Jade is an exceptionally nice dog. We do not know her background, but we do know that she was very fearful and scared while at the shelter. She has made tremendous progress in two short weeks, and has demonstrated that she's a very smart and well mannered girl. Jade is very attentive, and very eager to engage with her people. She is very willing to please, and I think she will be very easy to train as well. She is very food motivated, and take streets gently. We do believe Jade was previously loved and in the home, as she likes to be comfortable. She loves to hop on the couch and curl up, and is quite fond of her large fluffy dog bed. Jade would prefer a Home where someone is present most of the time.

Jade has done very well playing with some of the resident dogs who are playful but not dominant. We think she could be placed with the playful submissive female, or playful male. She seems to enjoy playing with other dogs, but would probably also be content as an only dog.

A home with a privacy fence would be preferred, as Jade has shown that she is quite adept at scaling chain-link fence.

She has not yet been cat tested, but we are working on that.

Jade is heartworm positive, and will hopefully undergo treatment in mid February, so she will be ready to go to her new home sometime in mid to late March.

Jade is very well-rounded dog and will make an excellent companion for some lucky family!
