Zuri needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
ZURI ~1 1/2 to 2 years old. Good with dogs. Kids and cats TBD. Introducing Zuri!! What a sweet little girl Zuri is! She is about 1.5 years old and was picked up as a stray in a rural area of NC. Poor little Zuri sat at the shelter for 3 weeks with nobody coming to reclaim her or even look at her. GSRA was contacted by the shelter and we went to check her out. Zuri is an absolute doll!! Zuri is a bit timid and unsure when meeting new people, but once she gets to know you, she is a total velcro dog. Zuri LOVES attention, and will come sit beside you hoping for some petting or affection. She wants nothing more than to be near her people. Zuri will lean against you and put her paw on your arm in order to encourage you to pet her. She is very attentive and takes correction easily. She walks well on a leash and loves to go for car rides. She is very food motivated and takes treats gently. She needs to build some confidence, and would benefit from some additional training to help her bond with her people. She is VERY smart and eager to learn, she just needs guidance. Zuri has the type of personality that will present itself as total devotion to the family lucky enough to adopt her. Zuri is a young girl, and is on the smaller side. She weighs about 50 pounds, and should not get much bigger. Zuri has a medium coat, and is very soft. She has very soft and expressive eyes. She is quiet for the most part, but will vocalize when she wants your attention. Zuri would love a family where someone is home a lot of the time. She is non destructive for the most part, but will occasionally move things around when left unsupervised! Zuri needs an active family that will involve her in lots of activities. Zuri does not really know how to play with toys at this point, but I think she will learn..she seems like a curious dog that has not had exposure to much so far in her life...she will have a bit of a learning curve. Zuri is crate trained and housebroken. Zuri seems to do fine with other dogs her size when properly introduced. She still needs to be tested with small dogs and cats. Zuri is a fantastic dog that will make her future family very happy. Zuri does need to undergo heartworm treatment in the next few weeks, and then she will be ready for the next chapter of her life.
