(Beth) Hey there June, how are you doing today?
(June) Great! Thanks for asking.
(B) What are you up to?
(J) Oh, you know, just hoping you would come on over and give me a belly rub, or some good pats, or... maybe I could sit in your lap?
(B) June, you are a lover.
(J) Yes I am! And so much more! I'm a lover of attention but I also walks, tennis balls and toys, playing the game Lap Full Of Puppy, and watching squirrels. You keep talking about heart worms and how that's holding me back though.
(B) Yep, you are heart worm positive, so for a bit we need to reign in your enthusiasm while you heal.
(J) That's kind of hard for a pup like me - because I'm curious, enthusiastic, have great hearing, and strong hind legs. Hey, you keep mentioning that I would be good at agility - why's that?
(B) Well, for all the reasons you just said. You are a smart dog and need stimulation, plus you're athletic, so I think you would enjoy agility.
(J) Anything else I would be good at?
(B) Sure, maybe you could be a therapy dog, because you love people, are a nice small size, are a quick learner, and for all of your energy you settle down really quickly. You're a great companion dog but you're also confident.
(J) So if I'm so great why are you giving me up?
(B) Oh, dear June! You will always be in our hearts, but someone is out there looking for you. We're not giving you up, we are helping you find them.
(J) What will they be like?
(B) They will have so much love for you - more than you can even imagine. They will take you on walks every day and they will play with you and your toys. They will pat you so much. They will teach you more commands and help you learn new thing and explore your world. And you will make them very happy.
(J) Thanks for talking...but, um...how about that belly rub?
(B) Come on over!
(J) Can I sit in your lap?
