Hello world! My name is Penny, and I am looking for a great new family that is in search of an affectionate and playful girl such as myself! Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a very stunning black/tan shepherd. I am about 2 years old, petite, weighing about 55 lbs. I am friendly and affectionate. I may be a bit shy initially, but once you offer me a treat I will be your best friend!! I know how to "sit" and will easily come when called. I am quiet, attentive and well behaved in the house. I am also crate trained, enjoy riding in the car and a very happy girl.

I do enjoy the company of other dogs, and am quite playful. I love to play chase around the yard with my current foster siblings. I really would like a canine companion in my forever home.

I am a super sweet girl. I do need to mention that I am a little different than most dogs, I am a tripod, I only have three legs. But, that doesn't stop me from running and playing with all my friend. I will let my foster mom explain a bit more about that! I look forward to meeting you and possibly joining your family!

From foster mom:

Penny, or Penny Puff as she is affectionately called, is a sweet, well behaved and affectionate girl. Penny had a rough start to life. She was picked up as a stray at a rural shelter with a catastrophic leg injury, and the shelter reached out to rescue in an attempt to save her. It was quickly determined that the damage to her leg was extensive, and the only way to save her life was to amputate her leg. Penny is a strong girl, and has a great will to live and was up and about the day after surgery. She easily runs around the yard and has no problem keeping up with the other dogs she plays with. Penny has a great enthusiasm for life, and is always smiling and wagging her tail. She loves meeting new people, and will eagerly accept treats. She is one of the happiest dogs I have ever seen.

Ideally, we would like to find Penny a home with another playful dog and a fenced yard. Penny is a delightful girl who will make some lucky family very happy. Penny can easily navigate stairs, and currently has no problem jumping into her foster moms SUV. Come and meet Penny soon, you will fall in love with this happy and life loving girl, she won't last long!!
