UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM:
Toby met a cat and a small dog today! It was very exciting and fun and he wanted to play with everyone. Didn't even mind the yippy barking of the smaller dog or the hissing of the cat! He was interested but not overly so! Good boy, Toby!
UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM:
Toby has completed his heart worm treatment and is ready to find his forever home!! Toby is a playful dog who LOVES life and his canine/human pack! Loves car rides, walks on the beach, walks in the woods, swimming in ponds, and going out to eat at canine friendly restaurants.
He is about 2 years old, fully house trained, and crate trained. He lives with 2 foster sisters, the senior he will play with until she lays down. Our adult dog will play with him, and when she gets tired and he doesn't stop she will correct him. Then he will play by himself.
Toby is cute and affectionate to people, has learned sit, down, still working on stay. Generally he follows the lead of his foster sisters. As long as they are listening, Toby will listen.

Toby was found wandering the streets/roads in NC when he was picked up and taken to the Animal Shelter and sadly no one came to claim him:-( He is a mini-shepherd and kind of skinny only weighing in at 50 lbs, but will be 60-65 lbs by the time we fatten him up! We don't know his exact age, but guess that he is an adolescent...1.5 to 2 yrs old. And if there is one thing we are sure of, Toby LOVES life! We don't think he had been an indoor dog prior to arriving at his foster home. But he has adapted well to living indoors with only a couple of accidents! Toby LOVES to please people so he is easy to train and correct! He has two foster sisters and initially he didn't seem to know how to play with a dog. But he is learning and right now he is better playing with the senior dog than the 6 yr old alpha female. He is a perfect gentleman in public, on pack walks, at Petsmart, or walking in woods...and he captures the heart of everyone he meets!
Unfortunately, Toby is HW positive but we'll take care of that before he goes to his forever home in addition to getting him neutered. He is a young dog with lots of energy, and a desire to please his people! He is quickly learning the rules of the house and commands like sit, stay, down and come.
So if you are looking for an great sheppie with lots of love to give, then Toby is the boy for you!!!
