Hello there!! My name is Ellie, and I am a sweet girl looking for my forever home. I am good girl and very loving once I get to know you. I am about 4 years old, and have a very distinctive grey and tan coat. I am a quiet girl, who likes to be near her people without being overbearing. I am housebroken and non- destructive. I enjoy riding in the car, and am a very good passenger. I was not exposed to very much in my prior life, so I need someone who is willing to be patient with me as I continue to build confidence. I am animated and a bit playful once I trust you and get comfortable with my surroundings. I am living with a few other dogs. I do best with submissive and playful dogs. Bossy or overly assertive dogs are not my cup of tea! I am also very interested in cats, so foster mom says that I need a kitty free home! So what do you think?? Would you like to have a sweet and very pretty and distinctive girl join your family?? I f so, please come and meet me soon!!
From foster mom: Ellie is a sweet girl who has been through a lot of adversity. Ellie was found on an abandoned rural property, emaciated, dirty, barely able to walk, a tennis ball sized mass on her back, and with a very noticeable head tilt. It was not known if she had neurological damage or not. A kind group of volunteers got her to safety, and then reached out to GSRA for help. Fortunately, the head tilt and poor motor skills were only the result of a severe inner ear infection. After several weeks of antibiotics, Ellie was doing much better, the head tilt as gone and her motor skills were back to normal. She then was spayed and her fatty tumor was removed. Finally, Ellie has recently completed heart worm treatment, so she is now medically clear and ready to find a home. Ellie is a shy girl until she gets to know you. We think she may have been abused as she was extremely hand shy initially. Once she gets to know you and trust you, she is quite animated! She will play bow and dart around wagging her tail. Ellie is very calm most of the time, and is content to lay nearby while you are working or watching TV and she is finally learning what it is like to be a dog! Ellie was very unsure of other dogs when she first arrived, but is now doing very well with one of my submissive and playful young dogs. Ellie will do best with a quiet home and a family that is willing to be patient with her as she adjusts. If you give her that chance, you will be rewarded with a very loving and faithful companion! Come meet this little gem soon, she will not last long!
