DIXIE ~ 4 years old.  Good with older considerate children.  Good with dogs her own size. Not good with cats.

GSRA Adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.

Dixie is a sweet petite 4 year old German Shepherd a little on the smaller side. Dixie is a smart girl who will need a firm leader than provides consistency by following through with commands. That being said, Dixie is very smart and quick to learn new things and is very treat motivated! She even knows to leave outside toys outside without being asked! She know sit, down, come, wait, and walks well on a leash. We've even started working on a 'settle' command!  She loves loves loves to play fetch and would love to play all day if she could.
Dixie does well with low energy dogs and would do better with dogs her own size, although she wouldn't be opposed to being an only dog and the center of all the love and attention!!  And she will need a cat free home, she's a wee bit too interested in them!
Dixie is very cautious and can become very scared when meeting new people. She must have SLOW introductions. Once she gets to know you though, she is a complete cuddle bug!
Dixie is completely crate trained and is working on having free roam of the house.  Realitively medium energy but can get easily excited.  She loves our daily walks and play sessions!  Come meet Dixie today, you may realize fairly quickly that you've found the perfect dog for you!!
