German Shepherd Dog : : Female (not spayed, but will be before adoption)

ADOPTED COURTESY LISTING - Please contact person below with inquiries. ~4 years old. Good with kids. Not good with dogs. Cats TBD. 4 year old full blooded, AKC registered German Shepherd female w/medium black/brown coat, has not been neutered. As an alpha female, Alexa has a very dominating personality who is fiercely loyal to her pack family but can be aggressive to others. She plays well with her pack but recently injured the neighbors dog. Though Alexa plays well with our grandchildren, we always closely monitor because of her "act first, think second" intensely focused demeanor. Though she would never hurt us, Alexa gets caught up in the moment and could easily forget to be gentle. Alexa has severe hip dysplasia due to injury (not genetic) and has recently displayed symptoms of hip pain. She is current on all of her shots and is house and kennel trained. Alexa has high energy and loves roaming a very large yard during playtime so is not well suited for apartment or confined living. Alexa is a beautiful and very loving dog that we would love to keep but we are unable to keep her here. We must find a very good home for her, please contact us as soon as possible.
