MAURA ~10 months old. Good with older considerate children and dogs. Cats TBD.
GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.
It's a New Year for a...not so new Maura! I'm inching closer and closer to that one year mark and it's getting a little discouraging! I've lost my cute, fluffy, puppy good looks, but I like to think that sleek and lanky and gorgeous is the latest rage. But my good looks aren't all I have. I'm also a major snuggler, playful with other dogs, but willing to respect limits, and potty trained! Cute, fluffy puppies ain't got nothing on me! I love to go out and explore the world, feel the wind between my ears, and sniff everything! I like to chase squirrels, bark at things I'm not sure about, and stare at birds in the trees. I know my family is out there waiting for me. I hope this New Year holds a New Home for me!
Maura is an excellent companion. She's a constant wrestle buddy for her brother Connor, but when she's vacationing with another family, she gives the older resident dog the respect she deserves. Maura is submissive to other dogs and would do great with an older brother or sister to lead her.
She is cautious of new people, but once she knows you, she will always be happy to see you! She is currently sleeping in a crate, but I think she'd quickly learn to sleep on a dog bed or human bed close to her humans. She is still somewhat good with cats. If you have a dog-savvy cat that can take a few paw swats and dog nibbles in stride, she would do fine. Her biggest issue with the cat in her foster home is that she and Connor gang up on him and corner him. That does NOT go over well! But on her own, she interacts with the cat much better.
I cannot stress what a good snuggler this girl is. She wants to be as close to possible to her people. She is such a love! If she can't lay on her people, she's likely to lay on her brother. She is very well behaved and has done so well with training. She is not quite a calm adult yet and she still loves to chew on things that may or may not be appropriate, but she is growing into a graceful and beautiful girl who will make an excellent companion.
