COURTESY LISTING - Please contact person below with inquiries. ~1 year old. Kids, dogs, and cats TBD. Date Posted: 2/14/2015 My name is Sadie and I'm about one year old. I love people! I use to live outside before I came to live in my rescuer's home. She has a lot of steps to the door and I was reluctant to use them. After being shown the way, in one day I was running up and down. When she leaves the house I stay in my crate and watch TV or listen to music. That helps me not to be so lonely until she returns. I am learning a lot and having fun because she gives me treats and she tells me I am a good girl! I also love tummy rubs. Oh, my squeaky ball is my special toy and it stays with me in my crate and then outside to play. Sadie is still puppy and she is beautiful to watch as she enjoys running and playing. Her sweet personality will melt your heart! She wants to please. Although her beginnings were not so good, she is one of the most joyful fun dogs I have ever had. When rescued she had a notch in the tip of one ear and her tongue has a slit in the tip. (Do not know why or how this occurred.) Sadie is intelligent and soaks up training and new experiences like a sponge. She responds well to training with repetition combined with loving patience, fun, and treats. ( She is very food motivated.) Sadie did not receive training before being rescued and she has only been living here for a couple of months. She has made a lot of progress and she has a lot of potential. She has the focused energy for obedience and perhaps agility training. Sadie does well on leash until she see people approaching......then she is sure they are coming just to visit her and she is very eager to meet them! She walks beside me on Main Street and she is not affected by traffic motion or noise. If squirrels or cats run cross her path, hold on because she wants to chase. She rides well in a car inside a crate. Sadie has not been socialized with dogs. I have small rescue dogs and she is too exuberant to safely interact with them. One of the small rescues growls and snaps at Sadie if she gets in her space and Sadie backs off when I correct her. (This is under close supervision.) She wants to play, but fails to read dog language. Sadie attended an outdoor play day under a trainer's supervision and she accepted being corrected by other dogs. She exhibits dominate behaviors with dogs, small and large. The second play day was indoors and Sadie would not stop when another dog tried to get away from her. That dog snapped at her and she became aggressive towards that dog. She may have become overwhelmed with so many dogs confined indoors. There will be another outside play day to test her response. She was cat tested and although she was very interested, she did not try to harm them. However, she did not back away without intervention when the cat had enough of her attention. If you are willing to patiently teach Sadie, she will give you her heart and all the love and companionship you could ever want. She is crate and house trained. She likes children, but would knock over young ones. Applicants with children 12 and above will be considered. Sadie requires a secure 6' fenced yard for exercise, potty time, and play. She has been spayed and is up to date on all vaccines. She is heart worm negative and on preventative. Sadie weighs about 63 lbs. Sadie is a delightful treasure! PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GSRA DOG.
