ANNIE ~1 year old. Good with kids and dogs. Cats TBD. Greetings! My name is Annie. I am a sweet girl who had a rough start to life, but things have gotten so much better recently. Let me explain. I was picked up by a place called Animal Control when I was found running loose with a pack of dogs. I was very, very skinny....I guess I was too scared to challenge the other dogs when we would find something edible, so I was getting very weak. The nice lady at the shelter contacted the rescue and they came and said that they would get me healthy and find me a home. A home of my very own where I will be loved and cherished! I am so excited! So, let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a young girl, only about a year old. I have a beautiful black and cream coat, and very striking eyes. I am not a very big girl. I am underweight right now, but even when I fill out I will only be about 55-60 pounds. I am very sweet and very submissive. I love people, but I get a bit nervous when meeting new folks. I tend to cower initially until I determine that you mean me no harm. I am super affectionate, and will try to crawl into your lap if you lean down to pet me. I still have a lot of puppy mannerisms...I will run around happily, and am easily amused by simple things such as leaves and squirrels. I will usually run over to get attention if you call me. I also love other dogs!! I just want to be friends with all of them. I am very submissive around other dogs as well. I want them to be my friend, and will gently lay down to greet them and lick their faces to try to make friends. I have not been exposed to much in my short life. I have a strong desire to please, but I really don't know what is expected from me, so some formalized training would be very beneficial. I am also crate trained. I will sit quietly in my crate, and not fuss or try to break out. I ride very well in the car too!! I have been having fun at my foster home. I am getting fed on a regular basis---it is fantastic!! I hope to meet you soon! From foster mom: Annie is one of the sweetest dogs ever. There is not a mean bone in her body. She is sweet and submissive. She craves attention. She needs to gain a bit of confidence. She has already shown improvement in the few weeks that she has been here. Annie seems to be quite intelligent, and she is extremely food motivated. She has had a good increase in energy since she has finally gained a bit of weight. She is a very elegant looking girl. I do not think she has ever been in a house before. She took a couple of days to get used to the hardwood floors, and the TV was quite puzzling to her the first time she noticed it. She seems to adapt quickly! We are not sure if she is fully housebroken. Annie developed a urinary tract infection, and will be on medication for a few weeks to clear it. Until then, the UTI causes her to have to eliminate frequently. If I take her out every hour or two (when possible) she is very good about taking care of business. Annie is a total gem and with a bit of attention, love, and patience she will make a fantastic companion for some lucky family!
