Got Ink? Then we have something in common! Hi, I'm Rocky and the nice people at APS gave me a cool tat when they made me a responsible boy. My foster mom thinks its funny, because I try to act all big and bad, but really I am just a sweet boy. I'm looking for my forever family who wants to play with me, take me for walks (or runs), and let me cuddle with them. My foster mom lets me be the "big boy of the house" when she goes out. She leaves me in charge of looking out for my foster sisters, and the house. It's a huge responsibility to watch the kids in the neighborhood, and the birds in the front yard. Mom tells me I am a good boy because I haven't tried to run out the house when she opens the door to go out or come back in. I can be a little shy meeting new pups, I sometimes bark because I am trying to be big and bad, but really I am just scared. Mom is helping me work on that. When I have met kitties, I have not been too interested in them. There are a few at the adoption events that I like to see. Mom says I am doing better growing out of, what she calls 'Puppy Stage'. I'm almost a year and a half old, and a big handsome boy if I do say so myself! I think she means it because I no longer try to get the family to play with me by nipping their hand. I like to play with the toys they have here, but I haven't played with a stuffed toy (seems my oldest foster sister tears them up so momma doesn't buy them any more). I'm even learning what the word 'crate' means, and I sometimes like to go in there and just hang out. It's kinda my "big boy cave". OK, nice barking with you, it's play time! Gotta go!!
Rocky's foster mom here, Rocky is a sweet boy who tries hard to present a confident self image. Sometimes he gets stuck being a bit scared and overwhelmed, most likely due to the fact his life started out on the streets of Durham. He needs someone who is going to be a confident leader and who can help grow him into the "Rock-Star" he was meant to be. He loves to play with his toys (Kong, Kong ball, teething ring) and has been really good at leaving shoes, etc alone.
