~5 years old. Good with kids, dogs and cats. Date Posted: 11/15/2013 Wiley is a sweet natured dog that came to us through a vets office because they couldn't keep him anymore due to lack of space. He was found starved to near death and was able to be saved. However when he came to us he had some mild food aggression and was unsocialized. Since he has been here he has put on weight, learned to play with other dogs and eat around them as well. Because of his size and goofy nature, small children are not recommended but older kids are fine. Wiley currently lives in a home with 4 other dogs and 3 cats so has learned some social skills. He does better with little dogs because I feel he gets intimidated by larger ones. We leave food out all the time so he has learned to take turns at the food bowl. He is gentle with the cats and when they feel he becomes a little much they put him in his place. Wiley is potty trained, obedience trained and has lots of energy so he loves to run and play. He is very tenderhearted and does not do well with harsh words, or old school ways of training but excels with positive reinforcement training. Even though he is a large dog, he views himself as a pampered pooch who is here to cuddle with you (in your lap if allowed) and be your best friend. Basically he is ready to have a home of his own with people who will love him like the sweet goofy boy that he is. It is a requirement of mine that he be an inside dog who goes out for walks, play and potty time. He will jump a fence unless it is 8 foot in which then he cannot so if no fence then required leash walks due to his love of wandering. He is a great dog that needs a great home.
