Loretta is a wonderful family pet. She is one of the sweetest and gentle dogs I have ever known. She actually sometimes seems demure or doe-like, if that makes sense. Cesar Millan would say she's "submissive." She stays with you when outside and listens really well. She's great with babies and kids. She tolerates every type of interaction and activity. ( She has stood patiently as my toddler stood on her tail, and trailed close when my 4-year-old tried to "walk" her.) She's also a great watchdog - she's silent unless someone steps into the yard or rings the doorbell. In the summer, we've gotten her groomed short, which makes her look like a Weimaraner.

Her favorite thing is being with people. She'd be happiest with someone who is going to spend all their time with her - inside or outside, whether you work from home or want to be out and about all the time.

She is UTD on shots, flea treatments and heartworm. She is neutered, potty trained, crate trained and can do simple tricks like sit, lie down, roll over (only half-way, jump up and shake. She likes to have a "home base" like a dog bed.

Unfortunately, our family of two young children and two working parents are not home enough to give Loretta the attention she deserves. Being cooped up for 11 hours while we're at work/school isn't ideal - and she's had a few accidents that appear to have mortified her. It's just not fair to her that she's cooped up in the house all the time. We love her very much and really want to find her the ideal home.
