This is Wolfie! Wolfie is a German Shepherd Dog, approximately 7 years old. Through no fault of his own, Wolfie finds himself in the unenviable position of looking for a new home. His owner has developed a severe allergy to pet dander and his family is going through some trying financial times. He is house trained and is current on his rabies vaccination but not other vaccinations.
Wolfie is an intact male and has learned out to open the gate to his fence so he can find himself a lady friend! Sometimes he heads out for two or three days at a time! It's really important that Wolfie be neutered and that he find a responsible owner who will not allow him to roam free whenever he gets the desire to run the open roads.
Wolfie will need some TLC and vet care when he finds his new home. He has some tenderness in his hip area - this could be the beginning of arthritis or he may have had an injury prior to living in his current home. We feel that with regular supplements such as Omega 3 and Flex 2500 Wolfie will feel much better and won't need serious medical intervention. He does have an allergy to something and has a few hot spots. This is not uncommon and with regular bathing, a healthy diet and some hot spot treatment he'll be fine. The good news is that Wolfie's teeth look exceptionally healthy! His nails could use a trim but again, easy!
Let's talk about Wolfie's personality! What a sweet, sweet love bug! Wolfie is very calm and collected. He's *wonderful* with babies! And he lives with two small dogs so we know he's good with dogs. He had no issue with the three of us coming into his house and invading his space = good with people! Wolfie responds to commands for basic obedience and takes treats very, very gently. He's more than happy to roll over for a belly rub or just hang out with you in between walks and games of fetch!
Aside from needing to be taught not to unlatch a fence Wolfie is what I would consider a Move-In-Ready dog! Yes, his skin needs some care and he needs supplements for his joints but this is basic animal husbandry. This is what we do for the pets that we already have!
Wolfie is heartworm negative and his neuter, vaccinations and microchipping will be sponsored at the Gaston Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic!
