12/5/12-UPDATE
Tucker is now eight months old and becoming quite the charmer. He is such a happy puppy. Tucker is obedient and very loyal. He will do well with a family with children and with dogs or by himself.

10/10/12 - UPDATE
Tucker is a six month old bundle of joy and energy. He has been assessed as an Australian Kelpie. This breed is the most intelligent of the herding dogs. Tucker is just the right age to begin work in herding or agility. He is so smart. He has already begun instinctively to watch the horses. Often he looks to me for direction. On a long leash, I have allowed him to "bring a horse in" and Tucker is just perfect with this chore.
A little dog, just 40 pounds and not expected to get much over 50 pounds, he is quiet and respectful. He sleeps all night on a doggie bed beside my bed. He loves the doggie door and stays in the yard. He is quite loyal. Although he enjoys his three older GS brothers and his sister, Kitzel, Tucker would do well as an only dog. He has been on the farm for less than a week and we all adore him. If you have the desire to direct his keen instinct and his energy, please make this good looking fellow yours.

09/16/12-Update

Tucker is 5 months old now. This smart boy is moderate to high energy and LOVES to be active. He is housetrained, walks well on his leash and loves to be with people and other dogs. Tucker would love to be involved with Agility or Fly Ball or running with his forever mom or dad. An obedience class would be a breeze for this boy and would bond him to his new owner. Tucker is entertaining, but his curiosity could get him in trouble if left unsupervised. Tucker does very well in his crate as long as he gets the exercise that he needs. As with other young active dogs he should not be with young children as Tucker is fast, will take away their toys and we all hate to hear young children cry.

06/30/12

HI! My name is Tucker, and I am a super cute, super smart and super adventurous type guy (If I do say so myself). I was found by a Good Samaritan wandering around Harker’s Island and then rescued by the GSRA.

As a puppy I like EVERYTHING! My favorite things are playing with doggy toys, (especially the ball and tuggie), chasing the birds and the squirrels, getting a good belly rub and playing ‘herd the German Shepherd' with my foster sister (she doesn't realize I'm playing it, but I am). I bet I would be a natural at herding or other dog sports. I have learned to sit, down and sometimes I roll over. I am learning to walk on my leash but I would rather run free. I really need lots of room to run and I would not do well in an apartment.

I am still working on my house training, but am trying really hard to get it right! I sleep in my doggie crate and sleep all night. When I go to my forever home I will need obedience training but I know that I will learn quickly. Can I tell you again how smart I am? At this point I am an energetic puppy with sharp baby teeth and I would not be good around young children.

I am very much a puppy and, as you can see, I am very special. I hope you'll be my furr-ever home!!
