Well hello world!!! Miss Daphne checking in here. Sweet, affectionate and with a touch of mischief and spaz on the side!! I am a young energetic girl who is fun, loving, and very entertaining. I have had a pretty rough life until now, but GSRA has assured me that they will find me a great home where I will be loved and appreciated!! I can't wait, as I have so much love to give!! I am a young girl, only about a year old. I am not a very big girl either, and am only about 50 pounds. I have a pretty sable coat. I LOVE attention, and am a total velcro dog...I want to know what you are doing and be by your side as much as possible. I am very smart, and very energetic, and am looking for a family that will be willing to spend considerable time channeling my energies into fun tasks like training and playing ball or jogging. Everything is so new to me, and I am extremely curious about everything. I will sit and stare at you patiently for a treat. I so want to please my people...you just need to work with me so I know what you want me to do!! I love other dogs, and would love an energetic playmate...it is so much fun to play tag in the yard. I also loves sticks and tennis balls, and will prance around with them like a prize. Won't you come meet me you won't be disappointed.

From Foster mom:

Daphne is an incredible little dog, who will keep you laughing with her antics. Daphne is a victim of abuse, but she does not have any emotional scars from her ordeal, just physical ones. Daphne was picked up by animal control after they got a call about an abandoned dog at a vacant house. When they picked her up, they discovered that she had been abused....she was missing large patches of fur. The vet feels the pattern of fur loss in indicative of chemical burns. She is permanently scarred; the fur will not grow back. However, despite what she has endured, Daphne is one of the most loving and affectionate dogs I have met. Daphne is clearly trying to make up for all the experiences she missed as a pup. Everything is so new to her. She acts more like a 4 month old. Everything is a potential toy to Daphne: dish towels, mail on the table, a piece of fluff on the floor.... if it catches her eye, she will go play with it!! Daphne loves to run, and constantly has to have something in her mouth...she will charge around the back yard carrying the nearest stick or pine cone she can find. Daphne is very attentive, and is contantly looking for attention and/or direction. She will watch you with a quizzical expression as if she is trying to communicate. She has very soft and expressive eyes, and will shower you with kisses if you let her! Daphne is crate trained and housebroken. Due to her age and inquisitive nature, it is important to crate her when not supervised. She is not yet mature enough to be left unattended without being destructive (out of playfulness). Daphne LOVES other dogs, and while she can be a bit overbearing when first meeting them (trying to engage them in play), she is actually quite submissive. Daphne also exhibits considerable prey drive, so she is probably not good with cats. No matter what Daphne does, her innocent and loving expression will just make your heart smile. She is such a happy little dog, and will be a wonderful companion to whatever lucky family gets her. Daphne will need some direction and consistency to help her develop into a well rounded dog, but she is exceptionally smart, and learns very quickly. She has a string desire to please, so training and motivation should be a breeze. She responds very easily to correction. Daphne is sure to be quite popular, so come meet her soon!!
