Hello World!!! I’m Lord Byron – Byron for short. I am so happy to be alive! I was found as a baby trying to cross the street by myself. My mom and siblings had made it across and I was lost. A wonderful lady rescued me and took me in. She taught me to come to her by using a clicker. I will run as fast as I can to you – but I am telling you right now – there better be a treat waiting when I get there! I am house trained, ride well in the car, and get along with other dogs and I respond very well to treats. I have also become quite the watchdog. I will let you know if something is going on. I am very happy to play with you or just amuse myself. Sometimes I will sit and contemplate and then I’m off and running! My new foster mom gives me lots of kisses and hugs. I LOVE it!! Now that I have your attention I would like to take this opportunity to lay down one ground rule; I won’t fetch. Not going to happen. I was playing nicely, on my own, with my ball, and my foster mom walked over, picked it up and threw it!! I thought… what is your problem?? You threw it – you go get it!! BUT what I will bring to you is JOY and HAPPINESS. I’m that kind of guy. The other day my foster mom decided to play the violin for me. My own personal recital! I sat and waited patiently until the concert started. The first 5 or 6 notes scared the bejeebers out of me!!! I had never heard that sound and so close! Anyway, I settled in for the rest of the concert. Whatever makes her happy!! I’m easy. If you are looking for someone to hang out with – I’m your man!I am 26lbs of LOVE!! We don’t know how big I will get but my foster mom thinks maybe 40 lbs. (psst- I prefer NPR to the private concerts). See you soon!!

Notes From Foster Mom : Byron is the sweetest bundle of joy!!! When introduced to new surroundings he takes it very slowly. In the yard he runs and plays but in the house he takes it slow. Once he is comfortable he becomes more active in the house and will play with his toys. He is afraid of traffic. He is grudgingly learning to walk on a leash, except at the pet store where he leads the way. When he was first rescued they thought he was blind because of his contemplative state of mind at times. He is NOT blind. Far from it!! What Byron needs is reassurance at times. He likes to hear “good boy” and “I love you”! He loves people and other dogs. Sometimes you will need a little patience and give him time. Everyday he gains more and more confidence. He will follow you around and love you as much as you love him!!!!
