(1 year old) Good with dogs, cats, and older considerate kids.

Oh Jelly has come a long way in 4 months. When Jelly & her sister Haley came to my home back in March they were deathly afraid of humans, froze when I put a leash on them, refused to come into my house and when I tried to approach them, they ran. Jelly & Haley were so dependent on each other & had little interest in human interaction that we decided to split them up. Fortunately a foster family located just a few miles away from me was interested in taking Haley. Since then Jelly has really developed into a sweet personable girl who loves to play with my three older female German Shepherds and has become an easy going member of my family. She now sleeps on my bed with me, willingly goes into the kennel in the morning with big sister Katie, goes for walks on her leash and likes to crash on her doggy bed when we settle down after dinner. She likes to play with balls, but likes to chew them up more than playing fetch. And she d efinitely likes chewing up squeaky toys. Because Haley lives so close, when I or Haley’s parents go on vacation, Haley & Jelly interchange homes. They love to be together, running & chasing each other. At Haley’s home, Jelly has been exposed to cats; they’re fine together.

Jelly does not like her crate, so if I have to leave her inside, she stays in a bathroom with big sis Molly. She is house-trained when I am home. Jelly is about a year old. We strongly recommend that Jelly’s adoptive family take Jelly to an obedience class once she is settled in her new home. This would be good for helping Jelly bond with her new family & it would teach her manners, discipline & self-confidence.

Jelly needs a very special home that will provide special attention (although Jelly is extremely low maintenance) & continue to help Jelly build confidence & trust in human beings.

Although Jelly is not a classic looking GSD, she has the heart & soul of this noble breed, so if looks are not all that important to you, please consider adopting this little girl – she will repay you with a million wonderful shared moments & some puppy kisses.
Jelly has been a lot of work but it has been rewarding. Can you please take Jelly to the next level?
